Just Fluff It

Our artificial Christmas trees are designed to be full and bushy, unlike a lot of other trees which are designed to meet a specific price point, sometimes scrimping in quality as a result.

When buying an artificial tree, you need one with as many branches as possible. (You can check how many branch tips are on our trees by scrolling to the Product Features section of our product pages.) This will not only make your Christmas tree look fuller, but you will be able to add more Christmas tree decorations and unique touches for extra volume.

When you unpack your tree, either bought brand new or after storing it away in a Christmas tree storage bag for the year, leave it to stand overnight once you’ve erected it. This little trick will allow the branch tips to un-crease, making it easier to fluff them out.

When it comes to flocking - or fluffing - take your time to spread every branch out and refer to our product imagery for shape. This will ensure you achieve that picture-perfect look we all strive for at Christmas.

If you are putting your tree in a corner or against a will like a half Christmas tree, you will need to refer to the “front” of the tree when doing final branch tweaking. This will ensure the tree looks best from the angles it will be viewed from.

Our photographs are taken with the same ‘off the shelf’ product we’ll be sending you - so what you see on a page or a computer screen can come to life in your house this festive season. All it takes is a little time and care.

Deck it out with Decorations

Now your tree is up, looking full and bushy, it’s time to add the Christmas tree decorations. At Christmas Tree World, our trees have a high number of branch tips, making them perfect for dangling your ornaments.

Decorations are a must for a Christmas tree, but reflective or glittery ornaments can provide an optical illusion of more branches by reflecting the light. They will bounce the light off your LEDs and add that special twinkle. A simple and easy trick.

Along with Christmas baubles, ribbons are perfect for making any tree look even fuller. They’re even better if they have a long tail to feed in and out of the tree and can attach to the end of your branch or further towards the trunk.

Tinsel is inexpensive and a festive staple; simply by draping it between branches - not in a straight line - you can not only make your tree look fuller but break it up into sections, which can help break down the decorating process.

Get Real

Even if you have an artificial tree, using inspiration from nature is an easy way of making your tree even fuller and even more realistic.

To add extra realism, get your hands on some fir cones (or just opt for our Foresta Pine which comes with pre-attached pine cones!). They can be clipped or taped onto tree branches for that organic, natural look.

Finally, for that extra touch of winter, try adding some fake snow. Apply it to where snow would traditionally fall - the tops and end of branches - and it’ll look like your tree has just been brought inside.

If you’re after a readily snowy tree, take a look at our snowy Christmas trees, including the Snow White Fir and Snowy Alpine.

Here are some top tips for making your Christmas tree look fuller and rejuvenated:

  • Long ribbons and dangling ornaments are great for adding volume to your tree
  • If you find your tree difficult to decorate, do it in sections
  • If you think your tree’s base doesn’t match the job you’ve done up top, cover it in a cardboard box wrapped in paper to look like a large present
  • All of the images you see on our website are with trees straight from the box, like your own, so you can do it, too
