What are the Christmas Colour Trends for 2021?

So, you’ve done your due diligence and found the perfect style of Christmas tree for your living room. All that remains is to decorate your artificial Christmas tree with Christmas colours and wait for your guests to be wowed.

But what Christmas colour scheme will dress your tree to impress? For this very important question, we recruited some very important people; the Christmas Tree World community!

Continue reading, below, to find out this year's most popular Christmas colour trends, according to our amazing customers.

Traditional Christmas tree colour schemes

We start with the traditional Christmas colours; the classic combinations that give us those fuzzy festive feelings.

Red and green is one such colour scheme. Originating from the festive flower of holly, these colours have been decorating homes for centuries and are still hugely popular to this day. This is likely due to the stylish simplicity of this colour combo. All you need to do is dress up your green Christmas tree with red Christmas baubles and you’ve got a living room worthy of any Christmas card.

Of course, the red and green palette is not so much a hard and fast rule, more a festive base to build your own Christmas combinations. For example, one of our lovely customers Grace is all ready to put her own twist on the traditional Christmas colours, swapping out the green for a brand new white Christmas tree, adorned in red and gold Christmas baubles.

Frosty Christmas tree colour schemes

While traditional artificial Christmas trees are easy to coordinate with the rest of your December display, it can be a little trickier to find out what colours go with white Christmas trees. Fortunately, the Christmas Tree World community is bursting with ideas.

Lisa, for instance, is aiming for opulence with a Midas touch this year. She plans to dress her snowy Christmas tree with glorious gold Christmas baubles, dazzling guests with her precious metal motif. We certainly love Lisa’s luxurious, yet festive flourish!

There are also those who plan to apply their white Christmas tree colour scheme to the whole house, creating a beautiful winter wonderland. Our valued customer Lscc Daynes is one such extraordinaire. Opting for a graceful and glamorous design, her entire living room with be decked in iced blue baubles, white baubles and silver decorations come December time.

Trending Christmas tree colour schemes

Inspired by those exciting Insta posts and picturesque Pinterest pins, 2021 could be the year that you opt for a slightly different December display.

We’re talking about the likes of aquas, oranges, purples and even coppers. Yes, they may be a bit unconventional, but these trending Christmas tree colours are all the rage this year, offering a unique take on festivity. But what do our customers think?

Well, for Tracey at least, using trending Christmas tree colours is nothing new. For the second year running, she plans to adorn her Xmas tree with a charming combination of pink and white Christmas baubles, keeping things festive and playful.

And Tracey isn’t the only one who thinks that their tree looks pretty in pink. Josie, another one of our customers, has also prepared a fuchsia festive finish, buying pink, ice white baubles and cream-coloured decorations for her Xmas tree.

Dark Christmas tree colour schemes

If your tastes are more tall, dark and handsome, then you might be wondering which dark Christmas tree colour scheme is best for your onyx aesthetic.

As ever, the Christmas Tree World community is here to help with some inspiring suggestions of their own. Sue Dudley, for example, is pairing midnight blue Christmas baubles with white Christmas tree lights to dress her grey Christmas tree, completing a sleek and sophisticated colour scheme.

And as Teresa (another valued member of our Facebook group) shows, great minds do think alike. She is also opting for a more cerulean Christmas by decorating her tree with blue and silver Christmas baubles for good measure. A dark Christmas tree has never looked so handsome.

Beverley, however, has a different idea entirely – and we love it! She is giving her tree a gothic makeover that channels the spooky vibes of Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. It is certainly the perfect theme for any black Christmas tree.
